Welcome to Thursday, loyal readers. I’m looking forward to seeing you at our 40 Under 40 Awards this evening. More on that later. In the meantime, here’s what else you need to know today.

Self Made Training Facility fitness franchise opening in Folsom

Earlier this year, I told you that Self Made Training Facility was planning a location in Folsom. The fitness chain from Temecula would fill a space at 9580 Oak Avenue Parkway, in a Folsom retail center owned by Ethan Conrad Properties Inc. The space was previously occupied by Fitness 19.

Update: The new Folsom fitness business will hold a soft opening Friday through Sunday, operators announced on social media.

Self Made Training is a national franchise chain with locations in multiple states. The company focuses on private personal training and coaching.

Folsom’s TrueNorth Cycle is shutting down

My colleague Jake Abbott has another update from the Folsom fitness scene. A boutique fitness studio offering indoor cycling in Folsom will be closing at the end of the week.

TrueNorth Cycle opened in 2015. The business, located at 220 Blue Ravine Road, Suite 150, in the Quail Park at Folsom center, began by offering cycling classes but later added options such as barre and strength training.

In an email to customers, owner Heather Hayes stated TrueNorth will be closing, with its last day of classes planned for Friday.

Here’s what you need to know about the planned closure of TrueNorth Cycle in Folsom.

Meet this year’s 40 Under 40 honorees

OK, I can’t contain my excitement any longer. The countdown until tonight’s 40 Under 40 Awards is ramping up. We’ll celebrate these outstanding young professionals with a party at The Center at 2300.

I’ve been at the Business Journal for 10 years, and 40 Under 40 has always been one of my favorite events. I’m sure this year will be no exception. Even though I’m now beyond the threshold of eligibility — don’t be fooled by my youthful glow — I always leave the event feeling energized and inspired.

Retail property on Broadway goes to auction for second time

A retail property in a high-profile part of the Broadway corridor in Sacramento is coming to online auction — again.

Anchored by Walgreens, the property at 1401/1429 Broadway is set for auction beginning Dec. 11, according to a listing on commercial real estate website LoopNet.

In October, the property was also the subject of a two-day online auction, where the final bid was for $3.4 million. According to the auction, that bid was $100,000 short of a reserve amount, which meant the seller was not obligated to accept the offer.

Senior Reporter Ben van der Meer has details about the Broadway retail property that’s headed to auction.

New future for former Wells Fargo building in Roseville

Plans are in the works to convert a former Wells Fargo bank building in Roseville into a new health care facility.

West Sacramento-based commercial real estate developer Engstrom Properties Inc. purchased the 3,560-square-foot building at 5007 Foothills Blvd. in September for $1.2 million, according to real estate information service Reonomy.

Reporter Jake Abbott explains what’s next for a former Wells Fargo building in Roseville.
