CHICO — Retail store Boot Barn has moseyed over from its location on The Esplanade to its new home at Chico Marketplace. The store held a grand opening and ribbon cutting Friday, and the store was soon filled with customers checking out Boot Barn merchandise while country music played on the sound system. Boot Barn will be having events all weekend.

Country singer Amanda Gray will be performing today from noon to 3 p.m., and guitar player Austin Najera will be performing today from 4-7 p.m. Between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. today, customers can enter a raffle to win a prize drawing for handcrafted boots. On Sunday, customers can enter the prize drawing from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a chance to win the boots. Najera will perform from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Assistant Manager Jasmine Sanchez said there will also be complimentary shaved ice in the parking lot today and Sunday. Gray will perform on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. She also said the Chico Marketplace was chosen as it is a better location for the store.

Radio stations KTU and KALF will also be playing music today.

Sanchez said the ribbon cutting and official grand opening went well.

A prize wheel will be available for spinning today and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Boot Barn sells women’s, men’s, and kids’ apparel, plus items like cowboy boots, leather cleaner and protector, jewelry, workwear for firefighters, hiking boots, socks, cowboy hats, caps and more.

Boot Barn is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. It is located at 1962 East 20th St., Suite 125. The phone number is 530-899-0879.
