Maci’s story begins with a love for creativity and beauty. She once shared, “I’ve always had a passion for creating and making things more beautiful. I see potential and beauty in everything I see and everyone I meet!” This passion led her to pursue a career in cosmetology, a decision that would shape her life and the lives of her future clients.
Finding Her Path
After years of searching for the right outlet for her talents, Maci found her calling in cosmetology school. “I figured that being a hairstylist would offer the type of flexibility that would allow me to be creative, create connections with people, and have a family without sacrificing too much of my time away from home,” she explained. Armed with this newfound focus, Maci embarked on her journey in the beauty industry.
She began her career in a tiered system salon, where her hard work and determination quickly paid off. “Within 6 months, I had 3 service promotions and took over as salon manager,” she recalled. Her dedication was unwavering, as she worked long hours and took every service and client possible. “I missed out on so many life events, but I also learned so much structure. I seized every opportunity I possibly could, and when I outgrew that opportunity, I moved on,” she said.
Embracing Growth
Maci then transitioned to a beautiful salon, where she could fully embrace her creative passions. “I focused on niching down to services that excited me. I started offering extensions for the first time, and I made the connections and friendships there that I had always dreamed of!” This period marked a turning point in her career, as she gained confidence in her skills and began building a loyal clientele.
As her success grew, so did her ambitions. When the opportunity arose to rent a private suite within the salon, Maci jumped at the chance. “I hired an assistant and was able to finally get my schedule where I needed it and get all my clients taken care of at the same time!” This experience allowed her to step into a mentoring role, nurturing the growth of her assistant and sparking a new dream: opening her own salon.

As she prepared to take this significant step, Maci knew that finding the perfect location was crucial. She was looking for a space that would not only suit her needs but also allow her to create an inviting atmosphere for her clients. That’s where Ethan Conrad Properties came in.
Located in Skyridge Court off Auburn Folsom Road, the space we provided was exactly what Maci envisioned. She expressed her excitement, stating, “I was searching for the perfect place, and I found it here. The location is ideal for attracting clients and building a community.” The vibrant atmosphere of Skyridge Court complements her vision for Sand & Sage, making it a welcoming destination for all who visit.
