The Yuba Sutter Mall in Yuba City has been purchased by Ethan Conrad Properties of Sacramento, and the firm Thursday announced plans to remodel and reposition the regional shopping center to take advantage of its location.
The enclosed mall, built in 1989, occupies a city block in the heart of Yuba City. The property is the only regional mall for 35 miles and includes 407,000 square feet, 302,804 square feet of which were purchased by Ethan Conrad, according to the new owners.
The mall is anchored by Sears, JC Penney and Ross, and includes key retailers such as American Eagle, Children’s Place, Kay Jewelry and Aeropostale. Other tenants include Lumberjacks restaurant, Bank of America, Jack in the Box and US Bank.
Ethan Conrad Properties announced it plans to enhance the tenant mix in coming months and has renewed eight leases, securing the mall’s tenant base. In the works, the firm reported, is a potential lease with a nationally known lingerie retailer that is planning a 7,000-square-foot store.
